Biography

I completed my Bachelor of Arts at the University of Washington in 2000, while an active duty soldier assigned to Fort Lewis, WA. I am a retired U.S. Army Special Forces Medical Sergeant, having spent nearly my entire career in operational units deploying on combat operations in multiple theatres, providing medical support ranging from casualty evacuation in Africa to humanitarian assistance in remote barangays of the Southern Philippines. While not deployed, I served as a provider and clinical supervisor for a family medicine clinic for soldiers and their families.
Following graduation with MEDEX Seattle Class 46 in 2014, I joined the faculty to coach students in Basic Clinical Skills and assist with the Emergency Medicine course. I work clinically as an emergency medicine physician assistant, and maintain a strong interest in wilderness medicine education. I am exceptionally fortunate to have the opportunity to balance a rewarding clinical career with the ability to teach and assist in the professional development of our region’s best PA students, preparing them to fulfill critical roles as providers in our communities at such an important time in healthcare.
